But they return to the same outstanding issue that has not been resolved – closing an estimated $9.2 billion budget deficit. |

David Paterson’s approval rating recently dropped 20 points, his decision to still stay in office has met some opposition with Nassau County residents. Paterson is facing controversy amid stories of accepting New York Yankee World Series tickets as gifts and his involvement in a domestic violence case involving his top aide, David Johnson. Johnson has since left Paterson's administration.

The New York State Senate introduced a job creation bill in the vein of last week’s federal initiative. Like the one passed by the U.S. Senate, it will give tax credits to businesses that create jobs. Members of the Senate Republican Conference announced the bill yesterday. |
